Formed in the vibrant days of Fall 2016, The Ranahans found their roots when Josh Butcher, lead singer and guitarist, returned to Central Kentucky after a stint as a Ranch Cowboy in Bozeman, Montana. The stars aligned, and longtime friend Bil Bratcher, along with Megan Morrell on fiddle, welcomed Josh to create the core trio of what would become a Traditional Country and Western Swing Band.
As the band evolved, so did their lineup, including the addition of legendary Kentucky musician Rex Hart on drums and harmony vocals, and the skilled guitar virtuoso Alan Taylor. Now, in 2024, The Ranahans proudly introduce the talented Lucy Becker, a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, to complete their dynamic ensemble.
