Sweat In Da Bluez

  Sweat ‘In Da Bluez...da muzikle is a lively and extraordinarily entertaining adaptation of a short story by Zora NealeHurston, performed by the Agape Theatre Troupe. A story of triumph, set to the bluesy sounds of greats such as BB King, Koko Taylor, Robert Johnson and John Lee Hooker to name a few. Club Dub’s Willie Eames’ soulful guitar sets the tone for this theater tour de force and takes your mind right to the place of the small town, Jimtown, KY . This story keeps you on the edge as it unravels.......hold on to your seats!

Agape is a nonprofit, all volunteer theatre group founded by Cathy Rawlings. Since it’s beginning in 2000, Agape has produced several excellent shows including, Flyin’ West, Memories Of Life. Unchained Melodies, At The Crucifixion, Church Roll On, Above My Head (a gospel musical about black women and their church hats) and Sweat ‘In Da Bluez.....da muzikle. As a fledgling, nonprofit group, Agape relies heavily on the ingenuity, creativity, and contributions from altruistic patrons.
